CHARISMA is a Horizon 2020 research and innovation action advancing next-generation 5G network architectures by developing an intelligent, hierarchical, and highly efficient cloud-centric radio access network (Cloud-RAN).
The project develops a zero-trust security architecture supported by AI-driven risk management, real-time cyber threat intelligence, and automated security mechanisms. To future-proof 6G infrastructures, XTRUST-6G also integrates quantum-safe technologies, including Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), to protect data against emerging threats posed by quantum computing.

Role of InCites Consulting:
INCITES investigates the business perspectives of the proposed CHARISMA solution and 5G networks in general.
It designs and conducts technology roadmapping to identify barriers to entry and opportunities, while addressing regulatory issues related to spectrum and infrastructure sharing. INCITES contributes to the specification of use cases and system architecture and proposes new business models defining stakeholder roles and relationships. INCITES participates in techno-economic analysis, examining market trends, future projections, and European-level market implications. Detailed cost and tariff models are developed to support dynamic 5G networking, alongside sensitivity and risk analyses to assess technology and market risks and derive strategic guidelines.
